The so-called circular economy is based as its name suggests on the concept of a rotating material cycle which means waste materials are processed for thier reuse, this way reducing amounts of disposed of or incinerated waste in general. Recycling represents the main prerequisite if a smooth operation of a circular economy is to be achieved–all sources and materials are recycled, returned to the production cycle and then reused.
Dinos has been actively involved in the cycle of waste material management for over 70 years.
Dinos is a long standing business partner in awareness raising humanitarian projects.
At Dinos, we are continuously striving to find interesting solutions and make rational decisions in collecting and processing waste materials.
At Dinos, we close the life cycle of plastic and paper waste, waste packaging and scrap metal.
The »Plastic bottle for a plastic bottle« project represents the process of closing the loop of the material cycle in the industry of beverages by collecting and recycling waste plastic bottles, where the recycled product has the same importance of use as the source of the material the recycled product is made from.
In this sustainable project, besides Dinos the companies of Gastro PET and Fructal are included.
At the company of Fructal amazing 50% of its beverages are filled into recycled plastic bottles, supplied by Dinos and recycled by Gastro PET. The joint cooperation of the three companies enables the closing of the loop of the material cycle of plastic bottles.
The project of closing the material cycle of carton milk and juice packaging has received an international recognition award at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Its focus is directed towards separating, collecting and processing KEMS packaging, with the purpose of obtaining materials for the production of new products for alternative uses, in our case for paper handkerchiefs, paper towels and toilet paper. After processing them, new products are returned to the environment where the packaging waste was collected.
Companies included in the project are Eko Iniciativa, Lucart and Dinos.
The project of closing the material cycle of old newspaper promotes peer assistance among youths by actively collecting old paper and at the same time taking care of a cleaner environment thus contributing to the conservation of natural resources. All income from sales is allocated to scholarships for youths from socially disadvantaged families.
Among project partners are also Foundation Pismo srca (Letter of Heart) and Ekošola (Eco-School).
This Pan-Slovenian awareness raising humanitarian project promotes collecting PET waste plastic bottles and increases the awareness on the options of processing these bottles.
The project is held at educational institutions, including companies and other organisations. All income acquired from collecting waste plastic bottles is contributed to the fund for medical equipment at one of the Slovenian maternity hospitals.
